Concept Work | Student Project | Shillington College

New publication - Hound Magazine strives to create compelling and powerful pieces which explore the wonders ad thrill of travel. Made for the adventurous and wild at heart. Hound advocates for unconventional travel destinations that push the boundaries and challenge perspectives.

The Brief.

To create a non-conformist and memorable design for the publication’s Pyongyang, North Korea travel guide.

Scope.

Print | Editorial

At the heart of Pyongyang, North Korea edition is the push and pull of curiosity and ethics - exploring the hidden and multi-faceted, grand personality of the state.

Challenging audience mindset - ripped paper was introduced as a recurring design element, representing hidden secrets and disguise of the travel destination. Ripped travel shots of Pyongyang were made to obscure and distort the authenticity of what travellers are ultimately exposed to, questioning if the North Korea seen is its true character.
